Making Slight Progress..

Alright, so I stayed true to my word and was up until one a.m. last night highlighting and reading out of my YA Novel.
I'll continue with this process tonight, and who knows, may even finish the book?
[Highly unlikely considering I'm racing to finish Eclipse because I'm so engrossed... By maybe!]

-Sigh-. I would love to just jam all this information from K.L. Going into my brain and memorize the necessary basics to writing so that I could just dive into my own novel already.
But I want to do this right, even though I know that it will take a very, very long time to even make a dent.

Ugh, I want to sigh again. xP
Alright, I might as well get going on the highlighting and reading process..
Or attempt to finish Eclipse.

Getting Back on the Wagon

Alright.
Tomorrow I am officially going to pick my writing back up.
Tonight I plan on continuing to read Writing & Selling the YA Novel by K.L. Going and am going to highlight the essential messages the book portrays about writing.
I'm getting excited to dive back in again and hope I can manage my time better to allow more writing.
It's truly a difficult task, though; any moment I don't have invested in my two main activities [horses and volleyball] I'm basically spending with my friends.
And they can be very time consuming and exhausting, let me tell you. xP

So, besides getting back into my YA Novel tonight, I'm also going to organize my brand new planner.
For some reason I'm excited about that, too. x]
I've also spent a bit of time finally exploring different blogs here at Blogger...
I've began following a few and am excited to see what goes on at them. [:

Alright, I better get going if I plan on doing everything that I've posted about today.
Plan on reporting back about how I have gotten back to writing soon!
*Crosses fingers that all goes as planned*

Confession...

Alright, so to be honest, I haven't been working on my writing for the past few days. But I have a good reason! My love of horses has to be put somewhere, and at the moment, it is with a gorgeous three year old rescue Saddlebred named Petunia. I want so badly to adopt her and have been working frantically to convince my parents I can take her on. However, she is located in New Jersey, which is very far from my own location. So, we'll see how things go. This is something I truly want more than anything, so here's hoping that Petunia can come home with me. [:

A Work in Progress...

So, I've begun my writing ventures with a different approach this time around. I want to get this novel right this time and really go somewhere with it. So I've started reading Writing & Selling the YA Novel by K.L. Going. So far, I've been completely fascinated by everything Going has had to say about writing a novel for teens. The advice and direction she has written through this book shows me a whole new perspective on writing and proves to me there is a structured way to get my novel done. So, instead of diving right into my novel (as I have in the past) I'm going to take my time, read this book thoroughly, and then slowly move onto the outline to my novel.

Fingers crossed that I can do it right this time around!

Hola [:

Back again [:
And having a desire to write. I've been searching for young writing competitions all day and working on the rough, rough, rough outline to my novel. I'm so excited to get the boring, unspecific outline completed and get to my favorite part of actually writing the novel.
Well, not much else to share but that today... I guess I'll go continue my search for contests. The more experience I can get, the better!

[[It is necessary to write, if the days are not to slip emptily by.  How else, indeed, to clap the net over the butterfly of the moment?  For the moment passes, it is forgotten; the mood is gone; life itself is gone.  That is where the writer scores over his fellows:  he catches the changes of his mind on the hop.  ~Vita Sackville-West]]

Hello There

Why, hello there fellow bloggers [:

I'm sure that no one is bound to stumble across this random blog anytime soon, but personally, I don't mind. The main reason for becoming a member of Blogger.com was to have a place to just vent. I needed a space to call all my own, without having to go through the hassles of handwriting in a journal and then hiding it away in hopes that your thoughts remain your own thoughts.
So that's why I have arrived here. I would actually be a little flattered to have a follower or two, just to know that I may not be the only one reading my own posts. :P
But anyways, a little information on myself:
-My name is Emma [We'll leave it at that]
-I'm a young aspiring author [A few novels in the works]
-I am in love with horses and have made them the main focus of my writing
-Not only horses, but also nearly every other animal has stolen a place in my heart

In a nutshell, that basically describes the deeper side of me. My writing side, that is. Those simple facts don't exactly cover the day to day Emma; the social, bubbly, just wants to have a good time with her friends kind of girl I am. And not that I don't want to express that side of me here; it's just that the whole purpose behind having a place to vent isn't so that I can complain about Susy Q's terrible haircut, but to talk about my writing goals, my true emotional ups and downs, and what not. Susy Q's issues will just have to wait.

So back to my writing. I've decided that I'll not only try to end each blog post with an inspiring, funny, or just random quote I like, but I will also randomly post pieces of my writing on here. Who knows when inspiration will strike me, right?

Summer is finally here and I'm going to take advantage of my nearly three school-free months by focusing on my writing and blogging about it here.
So if your at all interested, keep an eye on my blog; you'll hopefully see my name on a best seller list someday soon. [:
